Built for whiteboards and projectors
This classroom spin wheel is the same fair wheel spinner as our homepage, set up the way teachers need it. Remove winner after each spin is on by default, so every student is called once before anyone is called twice — no more “you always pick him!”. Press Classroom mode to go fullscreen: the editor disappears and the wheel fills your interactive whiteboard, Smartboard or projector, with big touch-friendly buttons.
Paste names straight from your register or spreadsheet, then save a wheel for each class (Period 1, Year 4 Maths…). Saved wheels stay in the browser on your classroom computer — no student data is uploaded and no login is needed, which keeps things simple for school privacy policies. Beyond cold-calling, teachers use the wheel for jobs rotas, reading order, presentation order and choosing a review question number.
How to use the Classroom Spin Wheel
- Paste your class list into Edit entries (one name per line).
- Press Save wheel and name it after the class.
- Click Classroom mode to go fullscreen on the whiteboard.
- Spin to pick a student — they’re removed automatically until you press Reset.
Classroom activities with a random wheel
- Fair cold-calling: everyone answers once before repeats.
- Group work: make instant groups with the random team generator.
- Brain breaks: spin the brain break wheel between lessons.
- Discussion: start class with the ice breaker questions wheel or the debate topic picker.
- Maths: use a 1–10 number wheel for times-tables practice.
Frequently asked questions
Does the classroom wheel store student names online?
No. Names stay in the browser on your device. Saved wheels use local storage and share links contain the names inside the URL, so only share links with people who should see them.
Does it work on a Smartboard or Promethean board?
Yes. It works in any modern browser, responds to touch, and Classroom mode fills the screen.
How do I stop the same student being picked twice?
“Remove winner after each spin” is on by default. Press Reset when you want everyone back on the wheel.
Can I save a wheel for each class?
Yes. Use Save wheel with a class name, then load it from My wheels at the start of the lesson.
